This ancient Korean craft was nearly lost but thanks to a few dedicated Korean women the construction of this technique was saved for posterity. Using mulberry paper cords and a simple back stitch you will discover how to create radiating patterns in your fabric to create a fabulous pouch.

Discover the secret to this ancient technique and make one of these gorgeous pouches with Sara’s expert guidance. During the workshop Sara will demonstrate how to draw and transfer a design onto fabric. She will show you how to create the radiating lines using the technique of Saeksil Nubi .
All the materials that you need will be in the kit provided at the start of the course. Your kit will contain a design for you to follow as a guide as well as instructional handouts.

Each student will receive a kit containing enough fabric and paper to make the pouch and bind the edges.

What you need to bring:
You will need the following tools:
Fabric marking pen such as a Sewline marking pen.
Silk pins
A multipack of John James Embroidery needles sizes No.5-10
Thimble
Large sharp scissors for cutting fabric
Small sharp scissors for snipping threads and cutting smaller pieces of fabric
If you have a rotary cutting set with an A4 or A3 board, 45mm rotary cutting tool and acrylic ruler then bring this along.
Additional information:
· Please make sure that, if you wear glasses for close work, you bring them with you
· You might like to bring a small table or clip on spotlight to work with as well.
