At this workshop you will learn how to create the special padded lining that provides the almost impenetrable strength for these thimbles. You will make enough of this padded material to make additional thimbles after the course.

You will be working with traditional Korean silk fabrics. All the materials that you need will be in the kit provided at the start of the course including the thread. Your kit will contain a design for you to follow as a guide as well as instructional handouts.

During the workshop Sara will demonstrate how to piece your silk fabrics together using a Garumsol (whip stitched seam) worked by hand.  She will also show you how to work the extended cross stitch that joins the two sides of the thimble together.
